expand the radius

i’m still on the radius and choova-chilli thing. I began working on a tutorial for ubuntu but with fedora i was more ahead of things but i’m not jet done.
The chilli.iptables file besides the chilli.sock file need a closer look. Tomorrow i will read about iptables which i always wanted to understand.

here is the ubuntu tutorial :)

Something else is not going so well, i think its the hotspotlogin.cgi page dosent encryped the password right because the freeRadius Server sais something about the passwords didn’t match.
When i try the radtest command than everything is accepted.

  1. Firewall

The creators of chillispot created an iptables script for us to use!, see:
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/ChillispotHotspot/8.04

I’ve assumed the creators of Coovachilli have done the same?

To manually set firewall rules for port forwarding see:
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessAccessPoint

    Blocking ports requires extra rules.

  3. Sorry about making a mess with the “coova howto wiki”

I didn’t want to change to much untill you had a chance to review.

  4. Nils,

Have you made any further progress with you ubuntu help for coova-chilli?

I have been working through it all week, my clients are connecting obtaining a dhcp lease but no redirection takes place.

Do you have any ideas as to why this would occur?

    Regards

  5. hello nick

yes i had this problem many times but unfortunately i don’t remember what was the trick.
when you think about iptables that something pops up in my mind:

    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

    did you do that?
    probably yes …

the setup works fine at work but i have to reconfigure it
